CLEANUPS IN LAGOS

  Today, March 31st, 2018 was a day for public sanitation as two cleanup events were held simultaneously. The #KeepSurulereClean exercise organized by Africa Clean up Initiative saw over 100 people cleaning up the streetsof Surulere with notable participants like Honorable Desmond Elliot, RecyclePoints, YNaija, News Agency of Nigeria, Surulere Boys Scout, PickThatTrash, Let’s Do It Nigeria, JCI Eko. The KidsBeachGarden cleanup exercise is aimed at showcasing the dangers of indiscriminate dumping of plastics in oceans; the need to protect the shoreline; and the importance of good environmental habits among residents in Lagos state. Key participants include Miss Nigeria USA, The Nigerian Child Initiative, and representatives of the Cleaner Lagos Initiative, amongst others.
