On the 14th of December 2017, the Cleaner Lagos Initiative hosted top media representatives to a press parley held in Lagos state.
The media chat was well attended by media houses, the Honorable Commissioner for the Environment, Dr Babatunde Adejare, the Special Adviser to the Environment, Mr Babatunde Hunpe, the Executive Secretary of the Public Utilities Monitoring and Assurance Unit, PUMAU, alongside officials from Visionscape Group and other key players in the waste management industry.
The press parley was held to provide progress updates about the Cleaner Lagos Initiative, infrastructural upgrades by LAWMA, CSW recruitment and training by SSML, Operation Deep Clean activities by Visionscape Group and more.
According to Dr Adejare, “The Cleaner Lagos Initiative was born out of the need for Lagos to employ the operating standards adopted by other countries in the area of waste management. With the introduction of the CLI, we have launched a full-scale war on improper waste management in the state.”
